During the previous weekend in Talsi the third stage of the Latvian Rally Championship „BTA Rally Talsi” was held, which deservedly is called the Rally of Champions as for the second year already it gathers the N4 class actual champions from several countries. The competition in the track was really fierce and rich in unexpected turns, and it is best characterised by the comments of the sportsmen.

The Swedish N4 class champion of 2009 Jocke Nyman, who took the fifth place in his class, speaks about the “BTA Rally Talsi” as about an unforgettable event: “I am very glad, that I was invited to participate. I came to Latvia to win, however I finished as the fifth. I did not expect that the local drivers will be so fast. All the time I drove as fast as I could, but I could not catch the N4 class leaders. Until now the fastest rally competitions in my career were held in the South of Sweden, but the Talsi roads are much faster and surely are good for my experience. The rally organization also was in the highest level, and such aspects as spectators and safety were certainly considered. If I have such a possibility, I will definitely come here again”, says Nyman.

Today on 16th May concluded the third stage of the Latvian Rally Championship “BTA Rally Talsi”, which justly is called the Rally of Champions, as traditionally it gathers the actual N4 group champions from several countries. The sportsmen within this group were the ones showing the most unexpected results, as the first place was not taken by any of the champions, but by Andis Neikšāns and Pēteris Dzirkalis. Also this year in the total valuation laurels were won by Ivars Vasaraudzis/Pēteris Spredzis.
